Other Therapies Offered

Providing Maximum Benefits

Our team at Gillis Chiropractic Clinic wants to get you back to doing the things you love. To help you achieve the best results for your specific situation, we may incorporate additional therapies in your treatment plan. All our therapies are offered at both of our locations, unless otherwise noted.

Interferential Therapy

Also called electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) or e-stim interferential therapy, this modality uses electrodes to deliver electrical pulses deep into damaged tissue to reduce pain and swelling and improve circulation. Improved circulation brings increased flow of blood and healing nutrients to the damaged tissue.

Intersegmental Spinal & Cervical Traction

This is sometimes called a roller table, because it has rotating rollers that move up and down, or side to side along the spine, to relieve muscle tension before an adjustment.

Cervical Traction

While lying on a table with the head braced, a light pull is applied to stretch the neck, reducing pressure on the spine by separating the vertebrae. It’s used for neck pain, headaches and bulging discs, as well as pain relief from sprains and spasms.

Decompression Traction (Lima office only)

While lying on a table, a pull is applied to stretch the spine, reducing pressure by separating the vertebrae. It’s used for low back pain, including bulging discs or herniations.

Therapeutic Ultrasound (Lima office only)

A mechanical vibration deeply penetrates the tissue and creates heat in the muscles, tendons or ligaments, accelerating healing by increasing blood flow to the treated areas.

Diathermy (Westerville office only)

A high-frequency electrical current deeply penetrates the tissue and creates heat in the muscles, tendons or ligaments, accelerating healing by increasing blood flow to the treated areas.

Physical Therapy and Rehab

We provide specific, detailed exercise and ice/heat regimens to practice at home to support your individual treatment plan.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy from our licensed, BWC-certified massage therapists helps increase flexibility and range of motion, improves circulation and reduces inflammation and muscle spasms. Massage therapy appointments are scheduled independently of your chiropractic appointment.
